Today, several children and their families leave to go to Bluestone for the weekend. This is a beautiful and inclusive holiday park, and we are proud to give the families this opportunity. For families with neurodiverse children, these trips are more than just a holiday, they provide a chance to bond and the opportunity to experience a supportive environment where everyone feels understood and included.
We are sure that the weekend will provide lasting memories, and Bluestone's innovative design and wide range of activities cater for both neurotypical and neurodivergent people, allowing children and their families to feel comfortable and relaxed while enjoying the beautiful Welsh countryside.
But for many families, finding a place where their children feel safe and accepted can be a challenge. That's why we work hard to create these opportunities, ensuring that every trip is tailored to the unique needs of neurodiverse children, allowing parents and siblings to also relax and recharge.
Why These Holidays Matter
For families with neurodivergent children, day-to-day life can be filled with additional stresses and challenges that others may not face. A weekend away, supported by our professional staff, who understand and have a lived knowledge of neurodiversity, allows these families to break from their routine, connect with others who share similar experiences, and, most importantly, have fun together in a judgement-free environment.
These holidays offer:
Relaxation: Parents can take a breath knowing their children are in a safe space.
Connection: Families bond with each other and with others facing similar circumstances.
Lived Experience Support: Our team brings not only professional expertise but personal lived experiences, making the support both compassionate and practical.
We Need Your Help to Do More
The reality is that we could help many more families if resources allowed. The charity is determined to continue providing these essential holidays, but funding remains a barrier.
With your support, we can make these trips available to more families across Wales, giving them the chance to experience the joy they deserve.
