Family Activity & Wellbeing

At AP Cymru, we are proud that our charity provides a direct support service to neurodiverse children, young people, and their families before, during and after diagnosis. We offer a range of services, such as parent support and wellbeing check ins, family activities and parent/carer wellbeing sessions, and neurodiversity training. We actively campaign for more inclusive education and awareness of neurodiversity.

Exclusive Family Experiences

Our Family Activity & Wellbeing Services offer a variety of fun and accessible activities. Activities such as climbing, swimming, gaming, horse riding and more, are designed to provide a safe, understanding and supportive environment for the participants, as well as an opportunity to socialise and learn from each other.

Inclusive Events

We are proud to be partnered with a variety of organisations across South Wales to ensure that the needs of our children and families can be met. As neurodiverse individuals and parents/carers of neurodiverse children/young people, we truly understand the importance of providing a supportive environment where our events can be hosted.

Wellbeing Check-ins

We provide opportunities, in-person and virtual, that are designed to help you cope with the stresses, barriers, and challenges that society presents as we raise our neurodiverse children.

Peer to Peer support of others who understand our situation is a benefit of being part of the AP Cymru family, as our families will openly share their experiences.

Empowering Families Programme

The Empowering Families programme is built on lived experience and provides all of the things we believe
you need to know when starting your journey into the neurodiverse community. We offer a toolkit of guidance, knowledge and understanding that includes support services, workshops, training & clinics.

Celebrations and Recognition

Celebrating and recognising neurodiverse individuals is not only a matter of respect and dignity, but a matter of social justice and human rights. Neurodiverse individuals have the right to be accepted, valued, and included in all aspects of life, and to have their voices heard and their needs met.

On my first visit, I walked in unsure of what I could find but I was greeted with smiles and hugs and everyone was so warm and welcoming. That was 2 years ago and since then AP has made such an amazingly positive impact on our lives.

Hearing the stories of other parents, the real struggles and real positive thoughts made us feel humbled. Karen was so passionate, bubbly and loving. She gave us stories from her own experiences and her knowledge of autism is invaluable.
