During National Volunteer Week we would like to introduce our amazing student volunteer Cameron. This young man does so much to help AP Cymru, and has been recognised for his work by Cardiff Third Sector Council.
Here's a short interview he did with them. Cardiff Third Sector Council.
What inspired you to start volunteering?
started noticing my volunteering was making a difference when I started being Cwtch the Bear (AP Cymru’s Charity Mascot) as everyone around had huge smiles on their face once they saw me.
What advice would you give to other students considering volunteering?
Go for it, it’s the best fun on earth, you have nothing to lose and people will appreciate what you do.
How do you see your role as a volunteer evolving in the future?
Staying as a volunteer as I grow up would be amazing and I want to continue to support AP Cymru for as long as I can.
What are your future career goals, and how might your volunteer experience help you achieve them?
My future goals would be to become a barber with a focus on neurodivergent children and my volunteer experience I know will help me achieve that. I hope to also share my experiences with other young people who may be doing volunteer work so that we can share ideas and our experiences as a volunteer.
