Lily Morgan joins AP Cymru as our newest facilitator, speaker, advocate and ambassador
Lily’s journey has been long, brave, and deeply inspiring. After 17 years without answers, she finally discovered one of the most important truths about herself — but only after years of feeling isolated, misunderstood, and pushed to the edges of a system that wasn’t built with her in mind. She has spoken openly about how the Welsh education system left her feeling “let down”, and how reaching crisis point was what finally led to her diagnosis. Her honesty, courage, and determination to turn her lived experience into change is exactly what makes her such a powerful voice for our children and families. And now? She’s joining us. To empower. To educate. To speak for those who are still waiting to be seen. To bring hope to young people who feel exactly how she once felt. As CEO, I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Lily to our team. Her strength, compassion, and passion for neurodivergent children and young people is already shining through — and we know she will help us reach and support even more families across Wales. Please join us in giving Lily the warmest welcome as she steps into this new chapter with us.
Lily spoke to the team and said,
“Joining AP Cymru means having the opportunity to amplify the voices of neurodivergent children, young people, and families across Wales. I’m proud to be part of a team that champions inclusion, representation, and systemic change, and I’m excited to contribute to this important work.”
Boomerang Cardiff Awards
We are absolutely delighted to announce that Cameron has been chosen as a finalist for an award in the Boomerang Cardiff Ceremony later this month. Cameron has volunteered for a number of years with AP Cymru and has made such a huge difference to so many people's lives. Whatever the outcome, we are so proud of you and want to thank you for all the volunteering hours you spend with our charity.
Cardiff Business Awards
Karen, along with trustee Tracy, attended the recent Cardiff Business Awards. On the night, they were absolutely delighted to be awarded Highly Commended in the Third Sector Business Category. Congratulations to our friends in Boomerang Cardiff for winning the category.
School visits are amazing!
We love to visit schools and are always so grateful to receive feedback from our sessions. This session was led by our brilliant trainer Spud. The teacher fed back that the pupils fully participated and lent forward with anticipation. The teacher was so pleased to see how much the children actually knew and the role staff play in their education on recognising the understanding the conditions pupils have in the school.
If you would like us to visit your school, please email karen@apcymru.org.uk
Thank You!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Penyrheol Post Office/Londis Customers for raising a brilliant £40.15 for AP Cymru. Thank you also for letting us know that you will be raising further funds for us. We are so grateful.
